The Monroe City Senior Nutrition Center was incorporated in 1977 and began services in 1982. It was established and is currently maintained and operated for the improvement of health of all seniors and handicapped residents age 18-59 and is governed by a local Board of Directors.
Our goal is to be a "home away from home" by providing food, information and referral, socialization, educational and recreational activities to the elderly and handicapped adults in Monroe City, Palmyra, Perry, Philadelphia, Center, and the surrounding area between these towns. The main objective is to allow seniors and handicapped adults to remain active and independent in their homes thus preventing premature institutionalization.

The Monroe City Senior Nutrition Center is a non-profit organization supported by meal contributions, private donations, the Northeast Area Agency on Aging, the Mark Twain United Way Agency, and various grants.
Our meal cost is approximately $7.00 per meal. However, for those 60 years of age or older or to handicapped individuals age 18-59 we do suggest a contribution of $4.00 or whatever you can give towards the cost. Cost for those under 60 years of age is $7.00 per meal.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
*No handicapped person age 18-59 or senior 60+ years will be refused a meal due to their lack of contribution.
